He is known for his roles in Professional Lady, Three Windows, and Royal Storm and is particularly recognized in the action and thriller genres.

He’s garnered many fans for playing bad guys, criminals, villains, or hitmen in the majority of the films he’s starred in.

His first debut was in the Nollywood movie Missing Rib. He also played the lead role in the movie The Three Widows.

Early Life & Education

Azubuike Michael Egwu was born on February 1, 1985, in Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State Nigeria, to Mr. and Mrs. Egwu. His father was a businessman, and his mother was a teacher.

He was raised in Yola, Adamawa state, Nigeria, where he completed his primary and secondary school education.

He also obtained a degree in mass communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State of Nigeria.

Zubby is the second among five siblings. His siblings are Chris, Cynthia, Sheiley, Stanley, and Mary Slim Sugar.

Career

Zubby’s career in acting began at a young age in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, North East Nigeria. His debut film appearance was in Missing Rib.

Zubby has appeared in several other movies but became famous for his lead roles in The Three Windows, Royal Storm, and Professional Lady.

However, he has become a very popular Nollywood actor after appearing in the action movies Princess Rihanna and Implication.

These movies made him famous for playing the roles of a criminal, villain, and hitman.

Personal Life

For some years, Zubby Michael was involved in a relationship with Mary Okoye, the junior sister of the famous music duo Paul and Peter Okoye (Psqaure duo)

Zubby and Mary met at the traditional wedding of Nollywood actor Mike Ezuruonye.

Unfortunately, their relationship came to an end. According to him, they ended things because she was ready to settle down, while he was not up for that commitment.

He is currently single, and he has a son who he keeps out of the public’s eye.

In a recent interview about his relationship status, he said, “I’m scared of women. I’ve been working since, but now I want to give it a chance… As a young man, it’s not that women are bad; they are beautiful, but there is time for everything. Conquer the first stage of your life.”
