Early Life & Education
Chuka Ray Emodi was raised in the Igbo tribe in Enugu State, Nigeria. His father, the late Dr. Okey Emodi, was a medical doctor, and his mother, Senator Joy Emodi.
Ray is the youngest among his siblings; he has one brother, Onyechi Nwachukwu Emodi, and two sisters, Chibogu Ilozue and Nneka Emodi-Eze.
In 2005, his mother, Senator Joy Emodi, took office as senator of Anambra North Constituency, making her the first Igbo woman to be elected senator. In August 2019, his father passed away at the age of 77.
Ray Emodi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Nottingham Trent University in the UK and a Master’s of Fine Arts from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, USA.
Career
While studying for his master’s degree in Los Angeles, he worked as a model and decided to act fully. He made his film debut at 23 in God’s Own Villa (2013).
